About Dream Temples
Dream temple rituals are an ancient spiritual technology found in many cultures in many places. The intentions for such rituals are essentially for prophecy and divination, guidance from loving ancestors and other spirit guides, and revelation for the purposes of healing personal ailments and communal ruptures.
In many of the writings about ancient versions of dream temples, the dreamer describes their dreams to the ordained temple-tenders. The priests and priestesses (all genders included in those binary honorifics), would interpret the dreams and prescribe remedies, chants, offerings, and more to address the root causes of illness, discord, curses, and patterns of tragedies.
Our Approach
RVMS dream temples are a one-two night ritual container.
Participants are given preparatory information and instructions prior to arrival to the physical dream temple space. Scientific and spiritual information about dreaming, and what to do if one does not tend to remember their dreams is all included, and will be shared again when all together.
The Refugia Village Mystery School’s approach to a dream temple ritual holds that we are all able to interpret for ourselves and with other dreamers in the temple, what we each need.
Oftentimes, in the group dream share we will notice patterns within the collective dreaming which offer us insight for shared healing magics.
We invite you to embark on a transformative voyage, where the power of dreams is harnessed to unlock your innate intuitive wisdoms.
The Process
Once all the dreamers have arrived, we begin by setting in the temple for the evening’s ritual time. Chanting and rhythm making, dream-enhancing herbal tea potions, and meditative and relaxing trance all contribute to the invocation and incubation of the Dreams.
In the morning there is a harvesting of the dreams and a dream reflection time, using a particular form not aimed toward Jungian or literal translation styles.
Upon parting ways from the Dream Temple ritual, participants are given guidance as to how to keep the messages and learning alive in waking life, and to continue the magic and spirit-sourced connections present in an ongoing way.
All of the templeschool’s Dream Temple rituals rely on practices of consent and care.
