Settler Prayer of Land Acknowledgement
To all the Holies,
I call in this moment to my blood ancestors to join with any of the willing ancestors of these lands:
This ancestral territory of the Cowlitz, Kalapuya, Cayuse, Wasco, Umatilla, Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, where I now inhabit, was and is occupied through colonial violence.
I humbly ask for your collective guidance now, for myself and all beings within this story of genocide and survival.
Help us each and all to source a path of peace, and to change the arc of this story from suffering to justice.
May the powers of the cedar, salmon, yampa, and huckleberry peoples, at the confluence of the Wimal and the Willamette Rivers, give us help to lift up the struggles for sovereignty and land back.
May the celebrations and ceremonies of the still living and thriving descendants be protected and remembered.
I pray for us to be resourced in our commitments to lived solidarity, through reckoning and reparations, and for an equitable reconciliation to come in time for the descendants to inherit a living world.
For this and all which remains unsaid and contained within our spirits, thank you ancestors and Holies, and blessed be the web of life.
