WitchWays:

Opening to Elemental Magics

Foundations Course Part One

beginner level course • no experience necessary • open to all 16 and over

Somewhere inside of you there is a wonder or yearning. A sensing and knowing that you come from people who were intimate with the elementals and their wisdoms. A tingling message alights in your bones, attuning your attention toward which way you turn at the crossroads of your searching.

One of the paths reveals:

Capitalism allures a seeker to buy a witch’s identity. Ableism insists on the belief there is one right way to magic. Supremacism demands one to wield all power in service of oppression.

Another path reveals:

This five-session course which beckons to the ones who believe…

  • learning-practicing-evolving the essential skills, contemplations, tools, and ethics form one’s witchways

  • we all have an innate ability to sense energies, receive and transmit energetic information, and to make meaning of those powers

  • the elementals of earth, air, fire, water, and spirit are living entities which animate the web of life

  • each of us is a vessel for spirit’s works in this world and is responsible for that gift in this time of dismantlement and regeneration

  • relationships to the sacred, the embodiment of magic, and the frameworks and cosmologies which hold these shape one’s witchways

Empowerment through Source enables personal power. Personal power nourishes collective power. Perilous times compel the witches to enact our wisepowers. Riding upon the edge, we all decide if, or not, to bequeath a living and liberated world to the descendants.

This course is part one of two introductory courses featured in the Foundations Program; both courses (or equivalent experience) are pre-requisites for the Continuing Programs (Burning Times Never Ended, Longing to Belong, T.A.C.T., & Wylder Edge).

It is strongly recommended that each course be taken in a self-organized group of 3-7 people. Groups may be affinity, collegial, coven, collective or some other form. This recommendation comes from years of observation and participant feedback.

Taking these courses in groups creates forms of support throughout the study, strengthens the likelihood of practice (as individuals or as groups), and enhances and amplifies learning and self-reflection. I

This journey includes: demonstration and explanation of skills, presentation of concepts and development of frameworks, group discussion questions and embodiment activities, trancework, resources, and supplemental course content from respected contributors.

“Wisdom and knowledge can best be understood together. Knowledge is learning, the power of the mind to understand and describe the universe. Wisdom is knowing how to apply knowledge and how not to apply it. Knowledge is knowing what to say; wisdom is knowing whether or not to say it. Knowledge gives answers; wisdom asks questions. Knowledge can be taught, wisdom grows from experience.” – Starhawk
